Yes- it caused mild weight loss (5 pounds) due to lack of appetite but I also became forgetful ( I forgot to go to work twice and it affected my short term memory. Worst of all my hair started falling out a lot, especially in the front and my hair looked dull and lifeless. Before I started wellbutrin my hair was healthy, thick and shiny. I have been off of wellbutrin for 8 months and my hair is just starting to grow back again. Wellbutrin DID help with my depression though.
Overall, I can't reccomend Wellbutrin. The goods didn't outweigh the bads (for me). Good Luck!!! Hopefully it works wonders for you.
EDIT: Wellbutrin is the same thing as the stop smoking aid Zyban. It helps people kick their habits. While I was on wellburtin I kicked my caffeine addiction withour any withdrawl symptoms and haven't had or craved caffeine since. I have more energy without having to drink coffee and pop all day.

My wife is taking Wellbutrin now. I think all antidepressants can cause weight gain. Just be extra careful watching what you eat. I take Cymbalta and it does the same. It kind of gives you a sweet tooth. Good Luck.

I did and I didn't notice any weight gain or loss, however I felt extreme rage. I couldn't understand why because it's an anti depressant. The doctor explained to me that less than 1% of people taking it would experience extreme rage.

I did not experience weight changes, but oddly enough I got urinary tract problems. Unfortunately, it is very hard to predict what you may or may not get, or whether the drug is going to work for you. You just have to trust your practitioner's instincts--for that is how they pick one med over another, there are no clear rules as to what works for who--and give it a shot. That said, I know many people who have used it without significant weight changes in any direction.
good luck... and try and focus on whatever reason you're considering taking the meds. it may be temporary and later on you can work on the weight stuff.

I took wellbutrin for a couple of months. If you smoke it makes you cigarretes tast like crap. I didn't really have any side effects, sometimes it would make me feel really weird.

I have been on it for a bit, it is an appetite suppressant, I don't have any side effects, but everyone is different. It makes me have much more energy to get the everyday things done.
