Add fruit to store-bought foods or to those you already prepare.
Set out a plate of fruit salad before the meal – the time when your child is hungriest.
Keep a bowl of strawberries or grapes in the refrigerator for a quick and handy snack. (Of course, you'll want to take into account the fact that these foods can be potential choking hazards for toddlers and preschoolers.)
Serve fruit with a yogurt
Let your child make their own fruit salad with your help
Serve fruit smoothies as a breakfast or a afternnon snack
Help make your child familiar with fruit; serve them everyday.
Let your child help choose fresh fruit when you're shopping.
Most important, set a good example. Remember that your actions will speak louder than words. Besides, parents need their fruit, too!
Helpful addition
make muffins with your child adding raisins or why not make a banana loaf.

I bought Diego yogurt cups, dried apple chips, fruit snacks with 100% vitamin C, 100% juice, etc.. you're child doesnt have to chow on an actual piece of fruit to get the nutrients he/she needs. Oh! and my son loves taking a toddler vitamin once a day, that helps somehow I'm sure.

Let him try different fruits and see which one he likes. My two boys love fruit but then i gave it to them from the ages of 5months every day so they are used to it. Its going to be a long hard time but im srue you will get there in the end. You could talk to a health visitor or Gp and they should be more helpful to you.
Oh Good luck you will need it hope it works out

I had the same problem with my 3 year old, but with veg. I made up fun names for the veg such as Christmas trees for Broccoli, snowmen for Cauliflour, Sunshine for carrots and it worked. I also used to arrange his plase into a smiley face aswell. One thing i wouldnt do is make a big issue about it in front of him, i did and we had world war three in our house and i was worried sick. Give him pastel vitamins in the vitamins he's lacking in. Have you a smoothie maker? you could do all the fruit in one of those and give it to him as a drink or put it with natural yoghurt. If he likes yoghurt save the tubs and put you made up yoghurt in them. My son like apples cut up with whipped cream around it he loves to dip it in. Hope this helps i know it really frustrating when your trying to do your best for your child and they are not having none of it.

Whenever I hear about parents having trouble with 'fussy/picky eaters' I just shake my head and wonder - who's the parent here........
You give a child the food you want them to eat - you do NOT ask them what they want to eat!
Most children like bananas and slowly add apples, pears and grapes.

I tried this with my 22 mth old wee girl to get her to try new fruit and veg - its worth a shot. I'd say, "you know who eats bananas?" and i'd say someone from Balamory or Tweenies or whatever and she would eat it!! I swear! Whether a 3 year old is too old for that kind of things, I don't know??

NEVER force a child to eat something. it will be a battle you wish you hadn't started :)
My doctor told me years ago, and continued to do so through raising 4 children....toddles will NOT starve themselves. So that's a plus. Getting them to eat better foods is always a challenge with toddlers.
My best advice....get him/her to do something through not pushing it and just eating it yourself. When my 3 year old doesn't want to try something, I tell her its OK...almost tease her telling her its soooooo good that I will eat it myself. I did this with veggies for months...and finally one day she just asked for it, loved it, and eats them daily. Took about 4 months!
Of course I'm sure you will get some better advice. Mine are always simple :)
Of course, children LOVE to do what other children are doing. If you have nieces/nephews/sibblings/neighbors that you know love fruit. Invite them to the table. Yours will want to know what all the fuss over fruit is :)
good Luck :)

Feed his fruit in the morning after he wakes up. He is hungry enough that he will eat anything. I used to do this with the children I babysat. They would eat their dinner for breakfast. It worked.
