I was in the store with my 12 year old..she was carrying my son(her baby bro) around, who is 4 months. A lady approached her and started lecturing her that she was too young to be a mama! My daughter was trying to explain she was the sister and the lady said "Well keep it in mind, honey..there's nothing worse than a teenage mom!" I told the woman to mind her own business but was very pissed..especially since my daughter was the result of a teenage pregnancy! What should I have said?

I would have done the same and told her to mind her own business and keep her opinions to herself. When I was 12-13 I spent summers with my cousin helping her with her daughter (first time for fun and second because she was pregnant with the second one). I would get these horrible looks and comments when I went anywhere alone with the little girl. One time I was at a store watching the baby so my cousin could get some shopping done and had taken her outside to feed her lunch on a bench and these two old ladies came up and started lecturing me. It was the first time in my life I wished my own mother hadn't taught me any manners. Maybe you could use it to talk to your daughter about tolerance of others and how assumptions generally lead to the wrong conclusions about people. Good luck.
