What can I do to get my son on a better schedule? He doesn't get up until about 10 am, then I try to feed him breakfast then next thing I know its noon and he is exhausted. I tried to feed him before he goes to lay down for his nap between 12-1, but you know he JUST ate so hes not hungry. Then he wake up from his nap after about 2 hours sometimes 3 and he is hungry but its so close to dinner. I dont think he is getting enough food and snacks fill him up just as much!

What should I do to make sure he gets the proper amount of food? Bare in mind he is almost a year old and will no longer eat baby foods (he refuses them) so we are self feeding now for 99% of the time. He still gets his bottles of formulas, we haven't cut back on that.

I agree with prettymama20_2004. Wake him up earlier: here is my daughter's schedule (she turned 1 on Jan 5th):

Wake up between 7:30 - 8:00
Breakfast: 8:30
Bottle/glass of milk: 10:00
(We have already got rid of the am nap from 10:30-11:30)
Snack (usually fruit) 11:30
Lunch: 12:30
pm nap (+ a bottle of milk): 2:30-3:30
snack: 4:30
Dinner: 6:30
Bath: 7:30 followed by snack
Bed-time (+ a bottle of milk): 8:30

First, if he was still hungry, he would let you know. As long as you are offering healthy meals and snacks with the formula, he is fine.

It really doesn't sound like his schedule is that far off. He's only 1yr. and technically still a baby. Taking a nap or two isn't off the wall or anything. I would wake him up sooner gradually by 1/2 hr until it's closer to your wake up time or about 7 am. Give him breakfast and keep him up and busy until at least 10am. Don't let him nap longer than 2 hrs. Wake up and give him lunch and keep him busy until at least 2 or 3pm. Again nap no longer than 2 hrs. Up for dinner and playtime(run him ragged so he sleeps through the night) and bath and story. In bed between 7 and 8pm.

That's pretty much the schedule I had both my kids on and it worked perfectly. Gradually as he gets older, the morning nap will fade it's way out and only the afternoon nap will be necessary. As a matter of fact, both of my children took an afternoon nap when they got home from school through at least 2nd or 3rd grade. They got out before 2 pm, came home had a snack, and took a nap. We all did. It was awesome! They did homework while I cooked dinner and still went to bed at 8pm.

wake him up at 8:30 to eat breakfast, eat lunch at 11:30, take his nap from 12-2:30, and then give him a snack at 3.. dinner at 6, then a bath at 7, then a light snack after his bath, then bedtime at around 8:30.. That has been my sons scheldule since he was 1.. he is 2 1/2 now and still does great.. put it inot effect immediately, and although it may take a few days to get used to it, he will in no time at all...
