I've been to aruba twice last year and the first time we rented a car and used it only once. The island is so small you can see everything in one afternoon. The best thing to do is rent the jeep but for only one day, there is a bunch of places to get jeeps from down town or in your hotel. You get the best deals when you rent them same or next day. Then take the buses everywhere else, they are very safe and only cost 2 dollars to go anywhere you want. For resturants near there there is the blackhog saloon where you get cookout style food and drinks and bar stool racing all night for a set price and also hooters is close by for excellent chicken wings. There are a few small resturants as well but I didn't get a chance to try them. But, there was was a good place for lunch it was on palm pier, Right on the end of the pier, good sandwiches, and mixed drinks.
Hope this helps.

Well, the jeep you should check around like the same day or the day before, the rates will be better. Restaurants in Aruba are among the best in the world. These are at the top of the list:
-Aruba Destiny- Excellent local cuisine. You really have to meet the owners, (Aruban family) it's a whole experience!! so much fun
-Madame Jeanette- Great food and great service!!
-Sole Mare- the best Italian better then Italy itself
-Le Dome- Classy, upscale, french-belgian cuisine great for a special occasion
-Dinner at the Phoenix- ROMANTIC, dine where the sun sets. Need I say more???

If you have a car, you can go eat at Marina Pirata, possibly the best sea food restaurant in the world. You'll sit right by the water and it's so quaint, cute and romantic, it'll take your breath away. The service is superb. If you take a map of Aruba, you'll see that there's like an inlet right in the middle of it. It's called the Spanish Lagoon. There are two bridges over it. Take the low one, then drive past a television station and turn left right away. Go straight and you'll see signs pointing you to Marina Pirata. ENJOY!
