Every time I turn on CNN and there's a shot of 500 brown people wearing turbins, standing in the middle of some bombed-out street somewhere, shaking their AK-47s in the air, and chanting slogans in some goofy foreign language, the anchorperson always says, "And this is footage from the 'holy city' of Booga Booga (or wherever)."

When I picture a "holy city," I picture a city full of devoutly religious people who peacefully go about their business.

Apparently, their version of "holy" differs from mine, eh?

Because since before the days of Christ, all the lands, cities, small villages, were all in the Holy Lands. The Land in the Middle East is the Holy Lands, since the birth of Jesus Christ. Bethlehem, is the Holy Birth place. Anything associated with God, the Father Almighty , Jesus Christ is Holy . In America we refer to the churches as being Holy. It is a Holy place to worship.

They are called holy cities because thats the area where the "bible" takes place historically.. both old and new testament (as well as the Torah & Quran)

Your picture of what a holy city is/should be isnt even close to realistic in any religious text.. you are simply living in a dream world, and you obviously havent read any version of a bible.. they are all full of violence & war etc...
