the scripture says that God created man....not a primate that turned into a man.
The Bible also says that He created the animals. It wouldn't have to make a distinction if the animals ended up turning (evolving) into humans anyway.

Creationism is taking the story of creation in the Bible literally. That there was no scientific process involved what so ever. Evolution is the scientific process that the world came to its present existence through a scientific process.
I am a Christian that believes both. I believe that the creation story is an easy to understand way of explaining the process of evolution when science was not really known by many, if at all. God is the creator of everything, does that not mean science too? The fact that the creation story of the Bible takes place over 7 days gives support to a process (thing happening over a period of time) Other wise wouldn’t God have created the earth and everything else in ONE day?
I think most will agree that the earth exists! Does believing the creation story or evolution make a difference as long as both happened because God spoke it to happen? Many people think that the fall of man with the original sin is part of the creation. Creationism is simply how the earth & universe came into existence. It does not affect my belief in Christ the slightest. The earth exists, however it got here, and Christ came & died for my sins! God doesn’t care if you believe in creationism or evolution or both!!! What matters is if you believe in Jesus Christ as your savior!

I am an atheist, but I agree with you.
Evolution means that life as a whole evolved, from non-living matter at first, and then through several stages of development, until man and the other present life forms developed. This happened by factors of chance, and selection pressure.
Now, if you wish to believe in a "creator", you just have to exchange the pure "chance" in this theory by your "creator". Of course, if an all-powerful being would have "pushed" the chances at some points or even many points, nobody really could tell the difference.
Therefore, you can combine both: you can accept the complete theory of evolution and at the same time you can believe in a universal creator. Of course you cannot believe any religious texts literally. But by no means you are forced to pick one or the other.
As I said, I don't believe in any god, an of course no god is really needed in that scenario.

Creationism refers to the concept that all humanity, life, the Earth, or the universe as a whole was created by a deity (often referred to as God).
In science, evolution is the process in which some of a population's inherited traits become more common, at the expense of others, from generation to generation.
The term God refers to the deity held by monotheists to be the supreme reality. God is believed to be the sole creator, or at least the sustainer, of the universe.

Evolution does no longer disprove the bible or God yet in user-friendly words someones theological interpretation. on the idea of even if there's a God or no longer, strong technology continues to be impartial. The issues spoken about in Genesis a million that God did without delay mentally/Spiritually continues to be unraveling contained in the type of time and Genesis 2:a million-3 from the standpoint of the particular has no longer yet befell. Now Adam become the starting up of a clean element of time noted as the Adamic age (of which the bible deals with) interior of a a lot older element of time which will be 1000's of thousands or billions of years previous. Genesis 6 speaks about Adam's offspring (noted as the Sons of God) being mixed with the humanoid developed creatures that were right here by way of their daughters. Adam's offspring presented language and objectivity to the only subjective and emotional international of the animal. Adam is the lacking link that technology has yet to locate because his bones dissolved after lack of existence and so did his descendants that were massive. no longer all were actual giants although yet some psychological and non secular giants.

The evolution hypothesis is totally contradictory to the creation account in the Bible. There are many areas where they are polar opposites. You can not fit the evolution model into the creation model, it just doesn't work. Either you accept the naturalistic view of origins or you believe in special creation, there is no logical middle ground.

Evolution of species doesn't actually say anything about God, in fact it allows for a creator, but the problems arise when creationists misrepresent it and introduce irrelevancies like cosmology and abiogenesis. It isn't compatible with the creation account in Genesis but other than that evolution doesn't conflict with Christianity.

Well you only mean the first life but I find God unnecessary for that.
Why not say 'I believe humans evolved' and have a battle with the real creationists.
LOL this is always funny, creationists saying 7 days could have meant 7000 years (as if thats anywhere near enough time) if the bible doesnt mean exactly what it says why dont you ignore the whole worthless genesis stuff and let scientists do their job.

There is no conflict with creationism and evolution. There is a conflict with the mythical creation story of Genesis and evolution. Neither evolution nor any other scientific theory addresses what was before the cosmos and the beginning of time.

I personally don't think they have to conflict. I know a good number of Christians who believe that God created everything through evolution. The problem seems to arise from those people who interperate the bible literally vs. those who believe that some parts are left to interpretation of metaphors.

I've been asking that Question all day. Why can't both be true?
I think the challenge comes with the word "day". It doesn't have to mean 1 revol. around the sun. It just means a measurment of time. What if day meant 7 million years? how would that change things.?
