Seriously, does anyone else know what it could be... He tested positive for Strep type C over a week ago and still hasn't gotten better... His throat is still swollen, lymph nodes too and his dangly thing (uvula?) seems to have swollen...

Step doesn't always succomb to antibiotics. If I made 3 dr. visits and gotten no satisfaction I'd get another dr immediately. He may just need another round of antibioltics, it could be strep with tonsilitis or something else. Seek a separate dr. opinion.

Something is very wrong if antibiotics haven't taken care of this. I get strep very easily, and it's always knocked right out by day 3 of a Z-Pack.

Did he take the full course of antibiotics given? Which did they provide?

The dangly thing is called the epiglottis, and the symptoms you are describing sound similar to epiglottitis. Epiglottitis can quickly become an emergency if the swelling occludes the airway. Please call your physician or go to the emergency room ASAP.

Try a different antibiotic (go back to the doctor or go to the emergency room). It could be those tonsils need to come out in there.

Sounds like they need to test him for mono. My niece just had the same symptoms and she ended up with mono.
