I think 'tradition' says walnuts, but I use pecans - just cause I like them better.

Typically, walnuts, but pecans work too. I prefer pecans in general, but they are much heavier that pecans, so when I think of the texture of what banana bread should be I think walnuts would be a better choice.

Most recipes call for walnuts. but being from the south i use pecans. and everyone loves it. i think it tastes better than the walnuts,, i also add pecans in my pumpkin bread in the fall. for a nice fall flavor. my suggestion to you is try it one time with walnuts and then the next time you make it try it with pecans and see what you like better. good luck

Walnuts are the traditional nut for banana nut bread. I have tried other nuts but walnuts taste the best.

Walnuts! however, if you don't like walnuts, you can use pecans or even, if you feel exotic, Brazil nuts or hazel nuts can work too.

I always use Pecans and I get rave reviews that it is awesome! But you can also use walnuts. They both need to be chopped. It really doesn't matter.
