I have a kitten and she's got a bell on her collar, doesn't seem too bothered by it, but do you think it's annoying to her? If cats have good hearing and are sensitive to sounds, I think it would be.

BELLS ON COLLARS BOTHER EVERYBODY!!

I always just take the bells that come on cat collars off before I put them on my cat. The noise drives me crazy, so I would think it would bother the cat too - cats do have very sensitive hearing.

You probably already know this, but don't forget to make sure your kitten's collar has a safety release so he doesn't get it caught on anything.

Some cats seem to do just fine with a bell. Others don't like it. My kitten didn't like it. I put one on her because she was black and impossible to see in the dark and always getting underfoot and stepped on. So, at least I had an idea where she was. I did take it off though because it was obvious she didn't like it. But unless that is your problem, or unless your cat is dessimating the bird population in your yard, it's probably better not to have one.

Well, I have a cat, and when i bought him a new collar, cause i thought it was nice, and when i put it on him , he hated it so much, i had to take it off, but somecats dont really care what you put on him. If you think he has a mad look on his face, take it off.

Nope, it's something they tune out, just like when you have a clock that ticks, you tend to not hear it anymore. I wouldn't worry, I think my kitty loves her collar and bells, she purs when I put it back on after bath time.

It depends on the cat. My cat has one. Whenever I take it of him he tries to stick his head back in. Sometimes I will ask him "Is this yours?" and he will say yes. He can also say mama, no, go away, help me, and stinky. Of coarse, he isn't talking clearly, sort of meowing.

yes,If does because i'm certain because my friend is allergic to metal and that's what bells have inside them. The hard part is metal. If you put around their neck it will make the itch because all cats & dogs are allergic to metal.

Well, when I got one for my cat, he didn't like it at all, and always batted it around, and such, but he got used to it in a few days.
