the best place is crutchfield.com i believe you can get a instruction manual if you buy it from them you get it free. You can also get books on you model car which shows all the wire setups. how ever it is easy as hell it just looks scary.

If you are just replacing the head unit then you literally pull the thing out as usually the dash kit around the head unit is snap plastic :)

i watched a guy do it to my mustang and he literally unscrewed my shift knob pulled my dashboard out with one hand and unplugged the old one and replaced it lol.

Past experience says pay the installation fee. You are far better off and you don't waste your time and it looks good
