About 15 years ago my knee kept dislocating, even by just twisting around too quickly on a grippy floor. Eventually I had key hole surgery to clean out the joint. I was bandaged from ankle to top of leg for nearly two weeks and it took a while to get strength and comfort back (several months). Even now it's not 100% but doesn't dislocate anymore, but every now and then I get a slight pain and/or feel a weakness there - still wouldn't attempt to kick a football with full force. So yes, it did help, but 15 years on it's not going to be as it should. Maybe I was unlucky, for some people it probably cures all problems. It did help me but not the complete fix I was hoping for.

if by keyhole surgery you mean arthroscopy, yes. i've had it done once on each knee. both times were to remove lateral meniscus, calcified masses(bone spurs) and to smooth out the remaining cartilage. off work 1 week with first one off 3 days with second and no cructhes after 4 days. 3 little incisions each time that where not sutured but taped shut as to compare with a foot long incision and 2-4 weeks off work if done the old way. i'll take arthroscopy any day

I'm not sure what keyhole surgery is but I've had arthroscopic surgery..and it's still painful, but better than being all cut up...no scars and quicker healing time.

I had an arthroscopy on the right knee about 4.5 years ago - limited success; now even my left knee has started playing up - signs of age I'm afraid.
