The Tuscan is a TVR sports car isn't it. I think you mean the Tucson (named after the town in Arizona).
Any way I do quite a bit of work on Hyundai vehicles and they are pretty well put together. Hyundai is one of the biggest companies in the world and for them to offer a 5 year warranty shows that they have confidence in their vehicles. They have a very good dealer network and good customer service back up from their head quarters in High Wycombe.
The Santa Fe is a slightly larger model and both have really good spec for the price.
I would certainly consider buying one

I have a 2004 Sante Fe and think it's a great car. It is comfortable and has a lot of special features, such as reclining second row seats. Consumer Report ranked it high in quality. They also rank the smaller Tuscan very well. Their comments were:
"The 2007 Santa Fe that debuted this summer is larger than the outgoing model and has a small, optional third-row seat. The standard 2.7-liter V6 does the job, but the optional 3.3-liter V6 is powerful and refined. Like other recent Hyundais, comprehensive safety equipment is standard, including stability control and curtain air bags. Early impressions indicate that the new model is roomy and quiet with quicker steering response, making it more agile. The ride is compliant and better controlled than its predecessor."
"The Tucson is based on the Elantra sedan and is smaller than the new Santa Fe. Power comes from a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. The 2.7-liter V6 version, priced similarly to the four-cylinder Honda and Toyota offerings, delivers comparable acceleration but unimpressive fuel economy. Handling is not very agile, but standard ESC ultimately makes it secure. The ride is comfortable. Suspension noise is pronounced. Cabin access is easy and the rear is roomy. Antilock brakes and side- and head-protection air bags are standard. Reliability has improved to better than average. IIHS crash-test results of acceptable for both the offset and side crash, with the standard curtain air bags, are unimpressive."

Hyundai is getting better and better with their models, however if you are interested in doing a side by side comparison between the Tuscan & Sante Fe go to JDPOWERS.com. You can decide based on the ratings which features are more important to you. I chose my vehicle based on Mechanical & Perfomance. Good luck.

I love my 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe! No problems mechanically. One plastic molding problem on the hood was fixed while I waited (about 20 minutes) at the dealership. I recommend this vehicle heartily.
I know nothing about the Tuscan.

I bought the Hyundai Tucson this past July and I LOVE IT. I got the GLS, which is the midrange vehicle with 4WD. The only negative thing to say about it is that in most situations of driving, it gets about 19.7 miles per gallon. If I take a long trip (5 or more hours one way), I can usually get it up to about 20.1 miles per gallon by the time I'm almost back from the trip. Other than that, it has been the perfect vehicle for me.

My last three vehicles have been Hyudai. I did get the 2005 Sante Fe and am seriously thinking of trading it in for 2007 cause it has to extra back seats and a couple of new features. They have been really goods cars for me. Fuel Milage is reasonable not too much to fill up and I love their warranty. Never had a problem with any of them.

My brother has a Hyundai. He is pretty well satisfied with it. It is rather inexpensive for the "bells and whistles" it has on it. He has had no breakdowns and Hyundai is getting to be a real contender in the car market.
