I'd say Hatton is the more consumate pro of the two, and is a good ambassador for the sport. Naz, giving his dangerous driving escapades, would also have made a good ambassador for the sport...of Formula 1 Racing.
Naz was fun to watch when he was teasing people, but he neglected to train hard (mainly because he thought he knew better than his trainer), and stopped putting in the roadwork just before he won his first World belt in 1995. That's when he started to slide. By the time 2001 came around, all the world class fighters - Barrera, Morales, Pacquiao etc - were straining at the leash to get at him , cos they knew he was ripe for the picking. Barrera did, and beat him.
Naz was totued as one of the hardest punchers in the world, pound for pound, and people have said that if he actually trained hard and taken care of his speed and reflexes, he would have taken out the 2001 version of Barrera in about 4 rounds. But he let it all slip away.

Hamed was looking good when he was fighting no- hopers. When he went to America to fight Kelly he was exposed. Even though he won you could see that he did not like being pressured. When he fought Barrera he was totally outclassed and did not know what to do. Then what, one more crap fight and that is it. The only true world class fighter he fought he lost to. Johnson was over the hill and he struggled with him.
Hatton has fought some good top world class opponents and has come out on top each time. In my opinion Hatton is a much better fighter than Hamed as he has heart and determination and he turns up to fight and not show boat to victory.
I remember Hamed saying that he is going to be as big as Ali when he retires so where is he. He got beat , then had one more fight ( with a no-hoper), struggled and retired. Hardly a living legend.

both are highly overrated in my opinion, but haseem is probably the better boxer. ricky hatton doesn't really box all that well. just moves around, throws a couple of punches and then ties up. hamed had better skills overall.

Currently Ricky is but in his day "Nassem" Hamed was a great fighter, unfortunately he didn't have the will to go on once he lost a fight.

without a doubt ricky hatton.he has held far more creditable versions of world titles.and fought far better equipped opponents.nassem was just a different kind of fighter, very unpredictable with a big punch.once he came up against a true class world champ who he couldnt hurt(barrera)he couldnt come up with a plan b......career over!!!
