My hair is down to my lower back when it's straight but usually I just leave it naturally wavy which gets it about mid-back. I also have long layers currently but the next time I cut my hair, I'm planning on getting more varied but long layers. I really love the long, chunky bangs swept off to the side like Jessica Alba has (just an example). But also, I have a roundish/square face but I really want long bangs. Would someone please give me some recommendations or pictures? I keep reading that long bangs don't suit my face/hair type, but I don't want to believe it! Please help!
Thanks so much!!

If you have big cheeks its best to keep all your layers below the cheek bone! I also have a roundish face and i have noticed when i keep my layers below my chin my face looks longer and slimmer! Although i have had my bangs at cheek bone level and it looks super cute! As long you keep the bangs below the cheek bone, i think you will be fine! Experiment with your hair, anyways eventually it will go back!

I think that, according to your description, you would look good with long bangs. I have a round face and I have bangs that start more on the right side of my head (my part is towards the right side - it's off centered) and sweep across my face towards my left ear. I really like them. I have them layered so it isn't just a big chunk of hair across my face, and the shortest part of the bangs is at my eyebrow. Your hairdresser should have some good ideas about good bangs, but just in case you should find pictures of hairstyles that you like and take them with you. My hairdresser recommended not to have straight bangs across my face, which is what I used to do all the time. I think the side swept bangs are very flattering towards all kinds of face shapes.

I have what I consider a round face and I have side swept bangs. I don't think it looks any rounder. The site I posted is great and has many different celebrity hairstyles. I like this site because you can just print out the picture and bring it to your stylist. I hope you find one that you like and good luck!
