My cats absolutely love to play with the caps on the milk jugs. They also like their fuzzy balls and any sort of writing utensil (pens, pencils, markers, etc.). I try to keep those out of their reach though. :-)

Our cat's favorite toys aren't really "toys" per se. She likes string, boxes, wadded up pieces of paper, balls of foil (shiny!), the caps from water bottles, etc.

She does have a few actual cat toys and her favorites of those are a thing we call a cat tail (it's a long piece of cloth on a stick with feathers at the end of it), a pink mouse that rattles, a radio control mouse, a laser pointer and a stuffed George W. Bush (sigh...our cat's a Republican).

More than likely something that wasn't purchased! My cats (I have 3) prefer wadded up paper or tin foil, Q-tips, shoe strings or coat strings and other odd "toys". They also like dried tree leaves that managed to make it inside, braids and feet. I probably have purchased $100 worth of cat toys throughout the years and they still prefer the "imaginary" toys...

Da Bird (a fishing pole toy with feathers), paper bags & empty boxes, shoelaces, fur mice- especially the kind with the squeaking computer chip, catnip cigars, milk jug lids & soda bottle caps, and a laser pointer (2 of my cats love it & go crazy for it, and the other 2 act like they don't even see it). My big neutered male also has a giant fur-covered rat toy that's almost as big as he is, and he loves to attack it & wrestle with it.

The usual, catnip toys and the such.
But my favorite is a laser pointer. My 2 cats go absolutely nuts chasing the spot on the wall.

My cats enjoy having a childs fishing pole with a play mouse tied to the end of it and I fling it around and they catch it, they like there laser light, they love there little toy mice they throw around and they have this scratching pole with a tall bell hanging on the top, that they swat at. But most of all they just love the attention from me or anyone who wants to play.

I have an 18 lb Maine Coon neutered male who thinks he is a kitten! He loves balls, but not usually other types of cat toys. He prefers to play with anything that belongs to ME...

BUT recently I bought him a dog toy - a stuffed lion that is large enough for him to grab and hug and he loves it! He now steps on it and kneads for eons and then carries it around in his mouth

Rolled up aluminum ball, pens and pencils, pieces of paper, anything tiny that she can fling in the floor, little balls with bells in the middle, catnip bubbles, my toes/fingers, laser pointers, and a little toy mousy that she likes to play fetch with.
Of all the things I've bought for her, I have to say that the less they cost, the more she likes them, lol!

Oh, and I wear headscarves that sometimes have fringe at the end, she likes to jump up and grab that too.

Oh, and I forgot....she goes nuts over the cursor on the screen too, lol!

Both my cats love the fishing rod thing.
And the also LOVE big tinfoil balls.
Paper. String. Shoe boxes. Paper bags.

For some reason the don't like those fancy things that I sometimes get them. They prefer home made things.

A really fuzzy mouse toy which has a velcro thing on the underside that you can cat nip in ... drives him crazy!

He loves straws, and pens, and attacking jewelry on and off the body!
