I have a 2 year old shih tzu, and her rib sticks out. Is this a deformity? She was born this way.Does anybody have a dog that has a rib that sticks out? I can totally feel it when I pick her up. Will it cause her problems? Does anybody know? Thanks..

Have you had her checked by a vet?
If not I would.Alot of small dogs have rib displacia. It doesnt hurt them, it's kind of a birth defect. And another thing if you ever decide to let her have puppies you will really have to watch her because this could complicate the pregancy.

You're supposed to be able to feel the ribs when you pick her up. That's a normal weight.

Make sure you feeding the animal enoughand check with your vet they will tell you what a healthy weight is and you can tell that way if your dog is healthy
