Because eggnog really does sell that well year round. It is usually purchased during the holidays.

I love eggnog!! But my grocer only sells it at Christmas time. I am not sure why but I guess thats the reason it is a seasonal drink. And really, the thought of drinking it in the summertime is not so appealing. It seems like when the holidays approach, then you get a craving for it, right?

That's a good question. I went to Starbucks last week to get an eggnog frappacino, and they were out of it until around Christmas again. Maybe if people complain enough, they'll have it year-round.

The reason it is only a seasonal drink for me is that if I drank it year round, they'd have to widen the supermarket door so I would fit through.

Because it's rich and fattening and is a unique beverage. Plus you can put booze in it.
