I believe people should refuse to go steady until they're well into their twenties . I've always thought trying out different dating partners is a good relationship choice . Being single isn't about going steady . You can't find the right person when you're going steady with the wrong one .

I agree! Many of the woes of relationships would be resolved even before they began if the people involved would have had more time to experiment with the different types of partners our there. However, going steady does give some people a false sense of security and belonging that mistakenly gets confused for love. One should give oneself the chance to meet and deal with as many people as possible before finding the one you could possibly spend the rest of your life with!

Well at your age I think it's wise if you don't go steady. You need to leave the going steady to the more mature people out there.

Once you meet a girl who just keeps to blow your mind with whatever she does and it feels like everything she is is just right, when you feel like there's no one better, you will want to go steady with her, and it will make sense. Until then, you certainly won't see why people do it.
