Because if the first time you think you fell in love and got hurt, you didn't think that it was the right thing, then you would probably never put yourself out there to fall in love again, there fore never meet the person you are suppose to spend the rest of your life with.
Sometimes the best relationships are those with the highest highs, and sometimes you have to come down from those highs, cause nobody can be that happy all the time.

I think it means that people are most vulnerable when they're in love because they overlook a lot of things about their partner and the relationship. When you're in a relationship with someone, it's not a guarantee that you will be together forever, and that you will even be happy together after a while. It's hard when your partner cheats on you, or doesn't feel the same way in return. Love is sacred and unconditional, yet really hard to make it work through a marriage.

Nothing lasts forever. Your partner will either leave you or die on you. I'm not being a bitter pessimistic here. Think about it. If you don't break up with the person and manage to marry him/her, one of you will die some time leaving the other person alone. If you love something and loose it, regardless of how and when you will hurt.
Sad, but it's better to have hurt in your life than never love.

When you love someone, the love becomes hurtful when the person you love is not loving you back, when you have a fight with the partner, when your lover is ignoring you, when you are not getting the attention, etc. Most of the time, love is sweet at the beginning and it becomes sour at the end. So, love hurts.....

If you fall in love, I think it means you fell head over heels for them cuz you're so caught up in each other. Breaking up hurts those, anything that breaks hurts... Crushes too
