I've done something really bad. Infact i've probably done it MORE than once, I dont want to say what because its rather personal.

I dunno i feel god has turned away from me, Will he really forive me? I feel like i cant go on and im just a sinner. I'm really sorry for my actions and i want to lead a normal life now! I dont want god to turn away frome me.

How do i forgive myself? How can it be okay? How will i get myself forgive? How do i not give into temptation and do the same sin again

Forgiving yourself is not always as easy as it seems. Especially when we're perfectionists and our self esteem is shot. You have to tell yourself that yeah, maybe you screwed up, but you are a good person and want to live your life right. You're only human. We all do dumb stuff. I think that if you want God to forgive you - you have to be able to forgive yourself.

Desi,
That feeling of despair and discouragement is exactly one of Satan's favorite tools. First, he'll tempt you into a sin saying "doesn't this look great?" and then when you do it, he'll turn around and say "you're such a horrible person for doing that!" - talk about a big jerk!

Anyway, your desire to change is huge, and you need to give yourself credit for that good desire.

A quick review of the steps of repentance
1) recognize you sinned (you already did that).
2) Feel sorry for it (you're doing that, but see if you can feel sorry minus the despair - it's supposed to really hurt inside, but more like a hopeful hurt, like when you dig out an infection, you know it's going to hurt, but you'll also know you'll feel a lot better when it's over).
3) Ask God for forgiveness in prayer
4) Ask others you may have hurt for forgiveness and make restitution where possible.
5) Don't do it again (okay, don't loose hope if you do it again, but be sure to take active steps to avoid the situations that you find yourself doing that behavior - like they say, keep the alcoholic out of the bar).

I've noticed that people are really slow to forgive themselves, even long after God and others have forgiven them. Just remember, nobody is perfect, and we're not supposed to be yet, it's a process, not a one-time event.

best wishes

It is not God who has turned away from you, but you who have turned away from God. It is kind of like you are in a dark corner, facing the wall and do not see that you are facing the corner. Let yourself be turned around so you face the bright light in the room and see that God has never left your side and never will, no matter what you have done in your life you will never ever be separate from God.

Sometimes what helps me to feel God’s presence in my life is to take in the beauty of the world around me, looking at nature, a sunrise or something else that is so pure and brilliant that it helps me to focus back on God and not on myself or any pain or mistakes that may have happened. Take this time to look at what you have done and what you are truly sad that you have done. Apologize to yourself, God and anyone who has been hurt by your actions. Write out a letter to yourself, forgiving yourself for what you have done. This is a long process, seeking forgiveness from yourself. Ask God for forgiveness, as God always gives it. But until you are ready to receive it and feel it, you will not feel like you have been forgiven.

The key for breaking a cycle in your life is to really look at why you are doing what you are doing, what does that action give you and your life that you enjoy more than not doing it.

I have written some letters on forgiveness that are posted in my blog. I would suggest that you go read through them, as they will help you in this process.

Good luck!

There is nothing in the Bible where it talks about us forgiving ourselves. We are to forgive OTHERS. If you have done something offensive to another person, ask that person to forgive you, ask God's forgiveness, and MOVE ON! To dwell on it is nothing more than to stunt your growth for God because now you are TOTALLY self absorbed! Start DOING something for someone else; take your mind OFF yourself, and help someone in need. Surely you can find someone to bless or to help each day?

Sorry to be so blunt, but self-forgiveness isn't scriptural. I hope you see the point I'm trying to make; I want to help!

Do not give in the temptation again. that is your choice. Next time it comes your way, grit your teeth and say.......... NO. God's spirit will helpyou do this. That is what God spirit is there for.

If you repent, God will forgive. This is an unchangable law in His commandments and in His word. God's word is ever settled in heaven, and God does not change His mind. If God said He will forgive you when you repent, HE MEANT EXACTLY WHAT HE SAID.

look if you have commited a sin then seek forgiveness inshallah you will be forgived.
And if you can't forgive yourself then how do you expect to be forgived. Never turn away from god day and night you must seek forgiveness allah is most merciful and if one repents then inshallah they will be forgived.
Try to avoid commiting that sin by thinking of allah every minute and seek refuge in him from the tempts of shaytan.
Look have faith in your self all that matters is that you regret the sin and hopefully you'll never commit a deed which you will be punished for.
The cure for you is that you should increase reading the quran.
pray regularly 5 times daily if possible.
and try to fight your temptations.
INSHALLAH you will never commit that sin
may allah have mercy upon you.

Jesus is the only way. If you accept him, then your sins are already forgiven. We are all sinners. None of us are worthy of forgiveness. You are no different. The only way we recieve forgiveness is through accepting Jesus, and we are forgiven. Through his mercy.

If you are doing something that is hurting other people, then you need to tell the authorities.
