For filming Casino Royale, apparently:-

The 747 has twin pod engines "a'la B-52" on the inboard pylons and fuel tanks on the outer, these are all fibre glass and have been fitted for "Casino Royale".

She's a 747-236 G-BDXJ (search for the registration and you'll find pictures of her) and used to be with British Airways before Air Atlanta Europe.

And here's a link with the story and a picture.

avio got it. flame out two and she'll drift down to just under 30,000 ft and as you burn fuel you can climb some if need be. far 25, which is the regulation the 747 and all transport category aircraft a certified under, requires that an aircraft be able to lose 50% power on, two engines in a 747, at V1 and be able to continue the takeoff. this must be demonstrated with the most critical engines going quiet. interestingly, when we were doing proving runs to hawii in a gulfstream awhile back to get a 135 cert, we did an ETP, equal time point, calculation and found that if we lost one then, we'd actually land in HNL with more fuel than if we kept both running. I told the faa guy on board not to tell the boss. he'll save fuel anywhere he can.

the dome on the outboard are fuel tanks. 747 is long haul and additional pod makes it flies further. i didn't see the movie cos of the ugly actor. what's the 747 role in this movie anyway?
