I agree with him. Everything in the bible is true. You are either believing in god or the devil

Your dad needs to get an education. The majority of christians believe in evolution, and not the creation. Many tie the two together by suggesting their god is a sort of guiding hand behind evolution, some say it's a mechanism set up by their god. Since evolution has been proved many times over, those who just blindly believe in the creation myth really need to get a proper education.

I am a Christian, who believes in both the creation story & evolution. I see the creation story as the way God explained evolution to humans before they really knew anything about science. If God created everything, doesn't that mean science too? Evolution/science to me is mans explanation of how God works (for us believers)... The Creation story says God created everything in 7 days...I see that as a description of a process, happening over a period of time. (The process of evolution) otherwise wouldn't God have created everything in 1 day?
For me believing in evolution doesn't conflict with my belief in Christ or why he was sent to this planet (However the planet got here, it got here.) Even the Bible says in Romans 1:20, 20For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.
"Being understood from what has been made...” We are to look at the earth, the heavens and God's other wonderful creations and be able to see His handiwork, and know that He created it. He allowed it to happen. Darwin may have discovered evolution, but he did not create it, God did!

If you are a Christian it depends on whether or not you take the bible to be purely truth, partially truth or just allegories.
Some Christians believe only in creationism, some believe that it was partially creationism and evolution (ie, god created the two atoms that collided and started the universe) and some believe purely in the evolutionary their and big bang theory.

The first prophecy of the Bible is at Gen 3:15, it foretells of the coming of the Christ as atonement for Adam's sin. If you don't believe in creation you don't believe in the Garden of Eden, Adam or the committed sin therefore there is no need for Jesus to come to earth or die for us. The Bible becomes a pointless volume because it teaches how God views His people and how He will ultimately save them from themselves. Belief in creation is belief in a Creator of great power and love, it is faith itself and without faith religion is a waste of time and effort.

I'm not sure what he means by believing in creation in order to believe in sin. I'd ask him, did he witness creation? Of course he didn't, then I'd asked, has he ever witnessed sin? Of course he has, so that would disprove the theory that you can't believe in sin without believing the creation story. That's just not good logic.
"All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made." - John 1:3
According to Scripture, Christ created all things so if you believe in him, you'd also have to believe in the creation. If this is what your dad is referring to, I agree with him on that point.

Jesus is the cure for the sickness we genetically got from Adam. If there was no Adam, what would you need Jesus for?
God created Adam. A real God, a real Adam. Not figurative, not evolved. One real person named Adam. Adam then disobeyed God, and he and his wife got kicked out of Eden. The only way for us to get back "in" with God is through Jesus. But if you don't believe that Adam existed, then why would you believe that you need the cure?

i think if you believe in the Biblical account of creation, then it is robbery to the document (the Bible) to not consider its authority in other respects.
In Colossians, the Bible gives an account of Creation where it names Christ as the Creator. it is the same Holy Spirit that inspired the writings of Moses' account of Creation and Paul's in the New Testament.
if you hadn't heard the truth of the Bible, how would you have known that the universe was created? if no one told you, how do you believe that it's true?

Yep.
Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
To believe in Him means so much more than believing there was a Jesus Christ. Even Satan and fallen angels believe that. It means you believe He is God, creator of all things. Believe He has provided salvation through Christ. Believe His Word the Bible.

The creation story does not discount evolution or the big bang theory, in fact they are complementary.

Do you believe in it? You should know the difference between believing and knowing. Believing it is accepting it as true but knowing it means that u know it for a fact.
He is wrong as long as it is not a fact.
