I had really intense insomnia about 2 years ago and it went away for a while, but now it seems to be lurking back into my life. Before, I would have roughly about 3 to 4 hours of broken sleep every night. It's not that bad anymore, now I will have solid sleep but it takes me between 1 to 2 hours to fall asleep, even if I'm extremely tired. If for any reason I wake up in the middle of the night, it takes me another hour or two to fall back asleep. Does anyone have a home remedy for this?

Well in my case I was diagnosed a severe manic depressant which contributed to insomnia and addiction. I finally asked for help and was prescribed Zoloft and Trazadone. The longest I ever stayed up without drugs or alcohol was 12 days straight. If your anything like me take prescribed drugs but I am a pretty severe case.

I got some herbal capsules from a company called Grandma's Herbs. One is called Night Nervine and the other is simply called Sleep.

They worked wonders. I fell asleep very comfortably and woke up feeling refreshed. they're not that expensive and I'm pretty sure you can get free samples off of the website.

Search the Internet for a sleeping disorder studies. Some hospitals and Universities do studies on this matter. Try to join a study if you can, if not then see your family physician for medication and his recommendations.
