The Marines are the best service to be a part of but it is a better experience if you immerse yourself in it full time. In the reserves you will still hold that precious title of MARINE but the temptations of the civilian world will be all around you and that can affect your dedication to the Corps. My advice to you is to go all in! If the reserves is what will fit your career goals go ahead just don't become a SH@# bag, half-fast Marine!You can be a reservist and still be a top notch Marine, you just have to remain focused. Depends your reason for joining. I was in the Marines 5 years Active. I did it because I wanted a challenge I wanted to do something with my life and I did.
If you join just to be in the military choose something easier and more simple like the airforce or army. If you want a challenge then Join the Marines!

Take it from a former marine, its always a good idea to join the military. You'll have some tough times while you are in but you'll be better for it afterwards. Semper Fi Devildog!

My husband is Active, working with reservists. The Marines are great, and a great way of life. OORAH

Joining any service is Honorable. what do want/need out of it is omething to consider. Check out all services and do your homework on each to find the best match for you.

well it depends on what kind of guy you are. if your the kind of guy that believes that you should fight for what little hope we have in the world than by all means go right aheadk, but like me i say hell no it would not be the right idea for myself to go to anything meaning dying for what, for the people in this world that at any moment someone in my own country could shoot me down and i wouldve died for nothing.

Coming from a mother...Are you crazy? They are going to ship your butt right to Iraq. Go to college son...killing is something you don't ever want to do. I know the military make things look sweet but trust me if looks too good to be true it is too good to be true.
