Many Christians, when asked, say this Evil is caused naturally by freewill.
But not all freewill entails evil.

A child has a choice of icecream. Is one the choices evil?

Could God have created us to have freewill and not be naturally evil?

I understand when freewill is given, some people may do bad. But that doesn't explain Original Sin. It doesn't explain why we are ALL sinners, even little kids.

Was God playing some sick game, creating us to be not good enough so we would need Him?

Freewill does not equal evil, or it doesn't have to if God doesn't want it to.

What do you all think?

To be evil is to choose it. It could be there and you never use it. Then on the other hand You might use it ,and continue to practice
It's definitely a choice. I choose to leave it dominant.

He does not create us evil. We have the free will to allow evil into us through Satan. We are all sinners because our "parents," Adam and Eve, sinned when they disobeyed God's words. Many people think of this and think "hey! that's not fair!" but guess what? It doesn't matter! God has offered to us the greatest gift we could imagine - eternal life through Him by accepting Jesus as our Saviour. We have forgiveness for our sins as we ask for it. It's not a matter of being good enough or not - when you know what God has to offer and you seek a relationship with Him, you WANT Him...it's not just a matter of need. We were created in the image of God and He did not have anything manipulative in mind when He created us or His rules....He wants a loving relationship with every one of us, and once you have it, there's nothing better...and everything will start to make sense. The things that seem illogical or unfair will fade away.

Adam & Eve were perfect and sinless when they were created. They could eat all they want from the Tree of Life... But they still had free will. God put 2 trees in that garden and commanded they not eat of one of them. Satan tempted them, to break that command, because he wanted control over humans, for us to be on his side. They could have made a CHOICE to not eat from that tree but they did CHOOSE to. God's punishment was that all humans would be spiritually dead from then on. That is why he banished them form the garden, so that they could not by their own free will eat again from the Tree of Life. That is why we need to CHOOSE Jesus!

We were not created with evil in us, we were created with the ability to do evil or not; hence free will. But when Adam & Eve chose to eat of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good & Evil, breaking Gods rule, "not to" we were punished with spiritual death.

The thing is we have free will to choose 1 thing or the other but only one of the choices will be what God wants you to do, and if you choose the other you are choosing evil. There is no gray area.

***Also as far as little children they are exempt from the punishment of eternal death, until an age where they should know better. There is a lot of scripture that will support that, babies & young children will be in heaven, but once they are old enough to be held accountable they are.

God created man in His image. Perfect and Holy. He also gave man the freedom to choose to live according to His laws or not. In other words, free will. The original sin was committed when man choose to break God's law even though man was aware of the consequences. The consequences we now live with is mans separation from God and being born with a sinful nature instead of a perfect and holy nature as was God's original plan. The world today is full of evil because of the consequences of the original sin. The plan of salvation is a way for man to re-establish his original relationship with God.

We have the freedom to chose to do good or not.

We have the freedom to obey or disobey.

Evil is not caused by freewill.

Evil is caused when we choose to do things contrary to God's will.

So, evil is indirectly related to freewill. Without freewill we wouldn't be able to choose to do evil.

I do not choose to kill someone because I have the freewill to do so.

I choose to lie to someone because I have the freewill to do evil, no matter my reasons.

Evil is a choice. Not all choices are evil. Not all choices are good. Not all choices fall into either category.

God made us to worship Him and to rely on Him. He did not want us to be evil. Yet, He let us choose to do so.

If God made everything perfect how would we learn anything?

we've been pimped that's all. no 2 bods alike. awesome. different paint jobs. cool. loaded with accesories. far out. some bods designed for speed-some for comfort. wow. if we run off the road it doesn't mean we're evil. just maybe an alignment problem or short in the wiring. some people fix it some just run the way they are. don't get hung up on evil. tell someone you love the way god pimped them. make some one smile today. original sins purpose is to let everyone know that they are not perfect. chinc in the armor sort of thing. nothing to worry about.

There can be only one God....not 10 or 1000 representing all the different beliefs of mankind...therefore NO Christian God as such...Evil is generated by humankind during his upbringing..over thousands of years...Eons ago, our Evil would have been considered to have been killing an animal to eat...nowadays it has progressed to plunder and murder, generally only for the good reason to satisfy females with gifts...And, yes, a Good God would not have let children be born without limbs etc etc...

Go to http://www.bible.org discussion forums and address those whom are qualified to deal with your theological concerns. Mostly what you will get here (yahoo answers) are most often twisted points of views concerning the Old and New Testaments. You will get those opposed to the written word and those who believe it, but offer nothing more than "because its Gods word" type statements. Theological questions need theological answers. Even if you don't believe in it, you could at least receive an educated and thorough answer.

I would also recommend visiting Ravi Zacharias's web site and seek answers to difficult questions there. http://www.rzim.org/

Evil is the absence of God. turn the lights off and you have darkness. Reject God and you have evil. God did no longer make us to be robots. we've a decision. examine the Bible. God says to forgive people who repent (turn from their strikes) and ask for forgiveness.

There is a part that wants to be separate from God, that part is called the ego. (evil) Then there is he part that remembers its oneness with God, the Holy spirit. We are of split mind. Listen to the still small voice.
