My girlfriend of one year has a one bedroom apartment, and she shares her bedroom with her four year old daughter. There are two beds in the bedroom: her daughter sleeps in one bed and she sleeps in the other. Now, lately, I have been spending the night a lot at my girlfriends house lately. I sleep either in my girlfriend's bed, or on the floor. My girlfriend only has a twin bed, so sometimes, it's hard to share a bed with her. Let me just say that there is no hanky panky going on when her daughter is present. My girlfriend and I just sleep together CLOTHED. If the father finds out about me sleeping in the same room as his daughter, can I or my girlfriend get into trouble. I would never want to jeopardize the custody she has with her child. I have met the father a couple of times and he is an okay guy. He knows that I slept over one time when my girlfriend was extremely sick, and he didn't mind. I also don't want to confuse the 4 year old.

The kid, my girlfriend, and I all have a close relationship. The daughter often times ask me to spend the night because I've created such a close bond with both my girlfriend and her. She is like a daughter to me, but I don't want to jeopardize her well being.
She can't afford a two bedroom apartment because the father is a loser who is on SSI. He won't get a job, and the courts say that he doesn't make enough money to pay support. Her daughter is very well adjusted. She is not clingy to her mom. As a matter of fact, her daughter is very helpful because her mom has a disability. Her daughter is an angel. We have talked about moving in together, but my gf just moved into the apartment complexes 5 months ago. She doesn't want to keep changing the living situation for her daughter. I was only curious. I am also going to talk to my gf about my concerns, so please, restrain from making quick judgments about me. I am a good guy and have good intentions.

kingskid1961: Since when does sleeping with another human being violate the laws of God. It is sleeping, and as much as you like to accuse, that's all it is. Believe it or not: there are some decent guys who live in this world who truly love and respect others.

You shouldn't be sleeping with her. You can damage the little girl. Think about the child above your own wants.

1st im glad you have enough morals not to have sex with the daughter there. I hope you have intention of being with this woman for the long haul if you are letting the little girl get close to you. The little girl could get her heart broken very easily just be very very carefull.
How long have the two of you been together have you concidered marriage, they you and her could get a bigger place and not have to worry about how u staying over would look.
just make sure you think before you do anything.

i dont think it will confuse the child. my daughter was 3 when i started dating my now husband [shes now 12] she in her own way understands that mom and "dad" arent together and that you have become part of the family. i dont think sleeping in the same room is weird or confusing to her as long as there is no hanky panky or noise making going on. plus you at least have appropriate night clothes on when she wakes up, so its like a sleep over to her. if this is going to be a long term thing though, i would invest in a least a double bed so its more comfortable to the 2 of you. as far as getting in trouble with the state. i dont legally know the law, but through my divorce years ago, i had issues with where my daughter would be sleeping at dads house, she used to sleep with him and i didnt like that. so family services checked to make sure she had her own space. that was very important to them. they may frown on your situation, but if she is financially not able to move to a larger house, i dont think the father would actually take legal action, unless you see otherwise, i wouldnt worry about it. it is a delicate situation, but i applaud you for sticking it out. that i think, is a single moms most insecure feeling, that no one would want her because of her "baggage" good for you, you are a lucky man and she a lucky girl

I don't think you would jeopardize anything but if you want to continue to spend the night with your girl friend you need to get her a bigger man or bring up the subject of you two moving in together in a two bed room. Good Luck

Sleep on the couch. If the two of you want to sleep together with no hanky panky then where is sleep is of no matter. Maybe she should get a sofa bed?

It is wrong to sleep with your girlfriend even if your not doing anything and it's that simple. It violates the laws of God and with the child in the room it's wrong. What if the girl wakes up while your "not doing anything" which if your in the same bed, that would be hard to believe. I say get a motel room, or get a sitter, if the child's father found out he could fight and win custody.

I hope you can get in trouble because that is totally inappropriate on YOUR part and on your girlfriends part. Why do you have to spend the night anyway? Are you homeless and don't have anywhere to go? She is a piss poor mother for letting her daughter see what kind of whore she is. It won't be long before the daughter starts bringing boys over to spend the night with "no hanky panky" because she won't think there's anything wrong with that. Tell your girlfriend to start acting like a mother! And if you just ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO SPEND THE NIGHT, sleep on the freaking couch!!!!!!!

Why would you sleep over in the first place if no hanky panky? Legally I don't know what the situation is. But my suggestion is to sleep at your place at nights and get a baby sitter to look after the child and get a motel room if you want to bang the girlfriend.

somebody advised her that's sexier, or she thinks you're a fashion trendsetter. i'm hoping you reside in a hotter area than I do because of the fact up right here in Canada you do no longer sleep bare except you have an electric powered blanket grew to become up on severe. .... and a heated towel-bar to make your gown heat in the morning. Why do no longer you only ASK HER quite of posting right here on YA? we don't understand why the two of you sleep in the altogether, and albeit, i do no longer care.

I think you should sleep in other place...if u really care about the well being of the girl, as you say.
You seem a nice guy and i think you should be patient. Talking with your gf is really important, so you keep up that way...
