Why wouldnt they have tried to replace Barbaro's leg with a prosthetic one? RIP big man!!!

Edgar, do a search for horse prosthetic and then re-answer, would ya? Horses can live 3 legged and can use prothetics.

I was wondering that myself since I had seen a horse on TV walking around with a prosthetic hind leg. I'm thinking it has to do with the temperament of the horse and Barbaro's instincts would have been to run if he was left out in a field. But they could have figured something out as far as exercise. Jeez, I saw them try a prosthetic leg on an elephant that stepped on a land mine. But she was rejecting it and wouldn't use it . Barbaro seemed to figure things out quickly so it may have worked, even though horses aren't known for being that intelligent.
It's a shame all around.

becasue horses cant live if they are not standing and it wont work on a horse.
