I haven't heard this one before and I have cut my hair very late at night several times and cut my nails, to prep them for polishing. My bad.

Superstition! Always when told something is haram, it is good to ask for proof (ie Quran or Sunnah).

well no this doesnt exist in islam.as far as i knw....dunno abt in oder religions
abt da superstition thing.....well sum ppl do believe in dat or they jus dun cut their nails or hair at nite jus 2 be on da safer side......
