I mean, I know there IS a God!!!! No doubt in my mind. Why do people only turn to God when they think something bad is going to happen . I can't say I never have. I think we all do, but, why can't people just believe in God all the time and worship all the time and walk in his ways?? I want everyone to go to Heaven.

As a Christian who definitely believes in God, it would be nice to live in a society where everyone does the same. Unfortunately, that is impossible...and everyone will not go to Heaven. That's just the reality of it. Many people believe that they can survive life on their own so that's what they try to do. However, when something devastating happens (car crash, cancer diagnosis, etc.) and people realize they really have no control over what is going to happen next, then they have to find some other entity to help them...God. It's unfortunate that it happens that way, but I would much rather see someone turn to God a little late than not at all. Just my opinion.

That is a very good question you have asked.And this really shows that you are a rational and realistic person.The answer is that "man is selfish by nature". You can just look around and you will find loads of examples to support this notion.
Man has done whatever he can to spoil mother nature to achieve his materialistic objectives.He forgets the pain quit easily once it is over.He has a tendency to be unthankful to nature as well as to his fellow-beings.When it comes to GOD, then he is the most merciful to mankind and to what ever he created.But Man is full of apathy and selfishness.It is his greatest weakness in fact.
I belong to a muslim family and my religion is Islam.I study all the religions particularly Judaism and Christianity. The Quran speaks a lot about Man's nature and his relationship with God.

Because sadly even the majority of believers in God, think of him like a genie! People are selfish mostly only thinking "what's in it for me?" Rather than " what can I do for you?" People are like that in almost every relationship, even marriage! That is why there is such a high rate of divorce... Because when people don't FEEL like doing something they don't. They usually don't say "well I don't FEEL like loving you right now, but I will because I took a vow that said I would!" They say things like well I am just not in-love with you anymore, I don't FEEL anything anymore..."
We should love God, even when he doesn't grant our prayers. And remember he doesn't really "grant" prayers; he answers them & NO is also an answer! People who believe, don't necessarily know God, or have a relationship with him...That is why people only come to him in times of need!

Children ask Santa Claus for a toy for Christmas.
They are made to believe that Santa Clause Exists.
That is no different in the wide spread belief of a God that helps people.

Sometimes people hit rock bottom and there is no where else to turn. Maybe God can help them.
Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. So, then they find out that the Lord can help them out of a place where one sees no hope. Many people find Jesus when they come to a place of hopelessnes and there is no one else who can help them.
Once one is born of God, then that person believes in God in more and more things as they study Gods Word and grow in Christ. It is a matter of personal growing in faith and maturing in Christ.
If people just would start their day praying to their heavenly Father in the presious name of His Son Jesus Christ the Lord, praying in spirit & truth and listening to God; then that person would trust & obey (believe) God more easily throughout the day.

thats a good question but god only helps those who help them selves first. and if you ask me i would help those who would help them selves first nothing wrong with believing in a deity even if they are fake or real its all up to the person and the reason for the help.
example: when i was in a hosptial bed i didnt believe in praying but one day i prayed and then i made myself get better and walked out of that hosptial after a week being there and i was told it would take two weeks to get me up and walking after my accident. and the doctor told me that i wouldnt be able to go back to work for 6 weeks i went back in 5 weeks. i helped myself and the gods did the rest for me.

people are lazy, and they get caught up in the things of this world and forget to make time for god. When something bad happens they find the time.

People love themselves too much until they get in a bind then they start praying.
If you believe in the Bible, then you should believe that only a few will understand and believe, what you are seeing in the world has been prophesied.

Because God is help . . He's everything and sometimes we cant take helping ppl all the time God's always there He cant tell us what to do face to face but through his word he's there! and He's just God!!
