Here's an example:

Quite a while ago, I was in a great mood. I saw a picture of my boyfriend's best friend's girlfriend, and thought about how pretty she was. Then I think, "Wow I'll never look like that." Then it's, "Is my boyfriend happy with the way I look?" Then it's, "He'd much rather be with a prettier girl..." And a downward spiral into a bad mood!

Yes, it shows an insecure side of me, but I had to use something as an example.

It's normal. I believe that we are all that way. We see something, it triggers a thought and it sort of blows the good thoughts away, but try hard to fight that.

My suggestion to you is this, don't be comparing yourself to other people. Outer beauty is not what truly makes a person. It's our personality .

If your boyfriend loves you and is happy with you, then don't think for a second he would like someone prettier. If he does, then his love for you was not true love.
He evidentally chose you for a reason.
Maybe, you are prettier than what you think! :0)

whenever u know consciously you r starting to spiral downward, think of someone or something that makes u happy like grandma, or a pet. picture the person or thing, untill you feel better. i do this. sometimes it doesnt work, i'd go take a leak or go downstairs for a walk. One thing that always always works for me.- staring into the sky, take a deep breath and wow at the wonderous big blue sky...it makes us feel so so small...and our problems and whineys even smaller...until they dissapear!

I do that sometimes, I have to catch myself because it really is a downward spiral. I believe it's called "negative self talk." It is usually a result of low self esteem and confidence, insecurity, and sometimes depression.
Trying to catch yourself doing it and stopping is easier said than done. It's worth your time to talk to someone about it so you can find strategies to help improve your self esteem and confidence.
All the best to you.

Absolutely! That sounds like almost everyday of my life. I take xanax occasionally when this happens. Does it get so bad that you feel panicky and/or depressed? You might want to look into talking to a doctor about it. You DON'T and SHOULDN'T have to feel like that.

choose your thoughts wisely, they have energy.I think most young girls feel that way. Don't ever build a case against yourself you are beautiful just the way you are.
