The fact that people HAVE to either believe or burn forever. That's just mean.

This answer is easy. First, most of the people who post these questions are westerners. The main religion in western civilization is....Christianity. Therefore the people who post those things are always surrounded by the ideas and the culture of Christians. The last time I talked to a Buddhist and was aware of it was two years ago. The last time I talked to a Christian, and they mentioned they were a Christian without me even asking, was 1 day ago. You're correct that nobody is forcing these people to become Christian, but Christians all over are constantly trying to convert them, push their beliefs on to them, make them feel bad for not believing in their god, or supporting stigma's that those who don't believe in god aren't good people. You might not be that type of Christian, but there are plenty of those around you that the non-religious will just lump you in with them. As to their presence on yahoo answers. There are just as many Christians posting hateful questions and answers that try to convert as non religious people doing the same.

If you don't think religion is being foisted upon us, then you must not live in the United States.
Here we have blue laws that say that we cannot buy alcohol (or even cars in some areas) on Sunday.
Our President has blocked funding for embryonic stem cell research.
Here in Cobb County, GA, Christians want their version of creation taught as science and they want evolution removed from the curriculum.
There are hundreds of thousands of churches across the country that incur enormous public costs and yet they pay no taxes. These same churches feel that they then have the right to influence the electoral process.
Churches take in hundreds of billions of dollars in the US and yet we are forever hearing from right-wing Christian media about how persecuted Christians are.
Do you get the idea now?

You certainly misunderstand. I feel the same way about ALL religions that involve Gods or magic or basically the supernatural. Buddhism is a bit different, so I do not feel any negativity towards that philosophy.
It may be worthwhile for you to examine for yourself why Christianity is singled out so often. What is it that Christians do that so many other religious followers don't do that brings the ire of non-Christians upon them? Just think about that for a while.

It goes both ways, on here. Much like the rude, vocal non-religious people decide to attack Christians, rude, vocal Christians like to attack non-religious people. I've seen just as much of one as the other. Personally, I'm not religious, and it doesn't bother me when anyone else is, until they start pushing it on me. I think Christianity gets picked on a lot because so many of its members can be so pushy. That's not to say that all of them are, nor that all followers of a religion should be blamed for the actions of a few particularly rude members. But to answer your question, probably because it's far less common to hear a buddhist demanding that everyone else follow their beliefs, in some manner, than to hear a christian doing it.

Well although I am of the Christian faith, I believe your premise is flawed and frankly a little dishonest. I admit, I have seen many go after Christians in specific, but from their own mouths and through their actions, they have shown themselves to be little more than bullies and worse.
They have been judgemental, arrogant and self serving in attacking others who do not see the world as they do. If Christians wish to be shown respect and tolerance, they must, like it or not, show the same to others. Sadly, they do not.
Respect is earned not bestowed.
On another note, as another user said here, telling people they are going to hell because they don't believe as you do, does not ingratiate Christians to anyone.

there is nothing upsetting to me about the christian religion. however, on this site, i have found that the people who insult me as a non-believer the most are Christians. It doesn't make a difference that they're Christian, if they were any other religion i would feel the same way, but when someone tries to shove something i clearly do not believe in down my throat with threats and huge quotes from a book i do not believe in, i get offended.

If Buddhists told me that unless I believed as they do, I'm going to burn in lakes of fire for all eternity, then I would rant about them. And I don't believe I've ever seen a question from a Buddhist or Muslim saying that I must believe as they do or suffer. Jews never do that...they never tell anyone that unless they believe in Judaism, they will suffer. Only Christians do that and then they patronizingly say "Oh, I'm only saying this because I care." Care??? The way to care about someone is to tell them that unless they believe as you do, they will suffer enternally? If that's called caring, then what does "not caring" sound like?

I don't find the other religions preaching to me....or I should say at me. Only Christians do this. And when it starts to have an impact on politics and how this country is run, that affects me and I get pretty ticked about it.
I haven't asked a single question yet.

upsetting..?.. do ya watch the news, ..? it isnt that christans religons are intollerable, any more so than muslem religons are,... its the religous bigotry that is offencive. Who could WANT to believe in a god that fits only his culture, or his national ideology, or his nationality, or his 'god-concept' as a mystery beyond understanding? I believe in 'God', ..but 'religon' is not where i turn for guidance.
It seems if you feel "slam'ed", it would be because some lagitamate point of differance , or concept, or comprehension, or cognition is at work...not that any one is picking on your personal ideology. Believe what you want, or believe what you can, or believe what your told... i will believe what i can to the highest concepts of my spirits ability. i dont need an interputure, or religon, or threats, or instruction manual. The God i know gave me addiquate resorce in mental perseptions to make the choices i need make to find relationship with him, with out ever needing be 'religous'.

Buddhism is harmless, and in most cases they don't even believe in the existence of a superior being, and they don't go on war because of their religion.
Christians and Muslims on the other half, man... those religions are vicious. They are bigoted pricks who think their religion is the one and try to push it on everyone else. If someone differs with them, then they go to war. They can't think outside their little religious box. Everything is black or white.
