I am guessing thatyou are referring to the Audi R8 that is coming out later this year and not the race car they introduced in the late 90s. And as the question is also a little unspecific, I'll guess that you are looking for a purchase recommendation of one or the other?
It's a bit of a strange two to choose from. A used F355 will probably run in the $70-80k range, while the Audi R8 is expected to run about $140k. So on one hand you have the issue questioning if the R8 is twice as good as the F355? Pricewise, a better comparision would be a new Ferrari F430.
The Audi R8 looks like a great car, and the diesel engine will certainly make it a monster with torque. For me though, my biggest question would be how the car feels when driving, and even with the sports oriented Audis I've always thought they felt vague and lacking in driver feedback. The R8 may well improve this, but having no chance to actually drive a car that is not available yet, I have to look at experience with other cars from the make. And the exact opposite is true of the Ferraris, all examples of the marque I've driven have been exceptional and just what I would expect (F355 included).
Based on that, and the $60-70k in savings, I'd go with the F355... though I certainly might feel differently after the R8 is actually available.
