if you have only 1 key you will need to have a new key cut and coded by ford (it does not matter if it has a blue or red chip )

The only way you can programme keys on fords usually is if you have the Red master key then you usually put it in the ignition turn the ignition on, wait for the red light to go out, turn the ignition off again and the red light should come back on, but you have to be quick, get the red key out as quick as poss and the new key in as quick as poss and turn the ignition back on and the key should then programme, the red light should flash but I'm not sure how may times to say its programmed, try and start the engine and if it starts the key is programmed, hope this helps.

Unless it is a modern Focus (you will have a blue chipped key rather than red) in which case there is no red master key, but you need two blue chipped keys to program a third new key.

If you only have one, you may have to go to the dealer and cough up £50-odd

If you have only one key.You will have to go to the dealer so they can hook up a wds to access the anti theft module to reporogram a extra key.If you had 2 keys all you would have to do is cycle the ignition with both program keys then cycle it with the new one
