You can't; it's a cyclical, natural process that comes and goes, and, contrary to what the alarmists say, ISN'T an Armageddon event.

I know the world is warming, you have to be very ignorant to disagree. But there is no one alive that knows why, this man made crap I just don't buy sorry.... The world has been warming long before the start of fuels burning, granite it doesn't help but I mean really you think this is the main reason???? The Desert areas have been expanding for the last 10,000 years according to history think they had 100,000sqf factories and big SUV's then???
The fact is we don't' know crap when it comes to this issue we can only assume, The reason you see global warming pop up so much lately is I mean its hot it sells it makes money believe it or not! These guys doing all this research make money they don't do it for free and as long as money is thrown to them by governments they will claim things that will bring it.... We are warming and to be honest not a person in this world can explain it.We are warming at a faster rate simply because we are losing more and more ice caps the more we lose the faster it moves. open you freg. and test it it will stay cold for a while then the percent of warming will go up faster and faster as it loses its chill. I don't even think its rocket science., just a Little logical thinking.

Don't listen to those idiots who tell you that global warming is "unproven" or that the warming of the planet is not due to the enormous amounts of carbon dioxide we have pumped into the atmosphere. No serious scientist (one that publishes in peer-reviewed journals) disagrees that: 1) the Earth is warming at an alarming rate, and 2) that increased levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is the main reason.

We are on the verge of global catastrophe. The polar ice caps are melting away, and the permafrost of the arctic is thawing. If this continues, global warming will acelerate, because the polar ice caps reflect sunlight back into space, and the permafrost contains massive amounts of CO2. If they go, the Earth will likely enter a "tipping point" - a point of no return. We will be plunged back into the Dark Ages, and millions will die. Sound like fun?

So, what can we do? First of all, vote for politicians that are serious about reducing emissions. The biggest culprit is the United States, followed by China and Russia. Texas is the worst polluting state, by the way.

Second, if you can, drive a hybrid car. Never leave your car idling. Use public transportation. Turn of lights if you leave the room. And stand up to those morons who spread the filthy lie that global warming is not caused by human emmissions. Weather is VERY complex, yes, but carbon dioide's effects on climate are simple and well-understood: it traps infra-red radiation in our atmsophere.

I am hoping the next president of the US is a smart and caring person, who will act quickly to reduce CO2 emmissions.

One good way is to convince others that global warming is really happening. The definitive documentary on this subject is An Inconvenient Truth. Rent it from a video store and take special note of all the suggestions given during the closing credits.

Assuming that you are asking what you can do personally to reduce your contribution to global warming, you can basically use less hydrocarbon-based energy (crude oil, natural gas, etc.). Drive a car less often, reduce your use of electricity, and plant a few trees.

News to all, but global warming is STILL an unproven theory, no matter what the UN tells you.

It is all about economics, NOT ecology.
