Yep, your son can apply for dual citizenship so long as he has one relative like a grandparent, mother or father that was born in the country which they want dual citizenship. Go to the British Embassy in your area and ask them for the information you will need, you may just be able to apply through your Government Building where they process Birth Certificates and whatnot. But you should look into it quickly because your son only has until he turns a certain age to apply for dual citizenship. I made that mistake of waiting till I was 25 and they told me it was too late.

There are so many unknowns in order for this question to be answered. How old is your son? Where was he born? What are/were his parents'(yours and his father's) citizenships at time of his birth, where does he reside now if he is an adult?

The best resource for this question is the British Embassy/Consulate in your area or visit this official website for the United Kingdom: http://www.direct.gov.uk.

Good luck!

If your son was born in England he will get a passport. If not,if one of you perents are British, you will have to go to the Home Office website,or the passport agency.
If he is from an EU country,he is entitled to stay for three months,to look for work,or just visit, etc.

well he can vistit no matter what im in your same situation my father is english born and raised and i was american born and raised i found that it was easier to go to the uk and get it down over there as if you do it over here is can take a long time and you have to send everything off to the english consualt in washington dc and can be a very long process when i got mine i was living over there anyways and just went down tothe passport office there (i went to the one in cardiff as i was living in bristol)
with birth cert my parents marriage liscens and my aerican passport they took all of that off of me and i had everything back in two weeks if you do this make sure you have a relative over there so you can list a local address for the mailing of the passport and also speeds thing up as tehy see you in the country and that you have family there already
good luck and cheers
oh and once you gte the red passport use it almost every where
they getloat less hasseled than us americans i use my red one whereever i go except when i come back to the us (our country sucks for internationl travel europe is so much better for this)

The best thing is to contact the British embassy in your area and get all the answers.
