You're right. I was out in a deserted area once and I saw some kittens in a box. They were just out there all alone. They were boney and they had runny noses which I was familiar with before from rescuing a cat I now own, and I stood there for like 10 minutes calling all the kittens to me so I could rescue them. I wouldn't leave until I had all of them. There was 4 of them, and they were just out there in the cold all by themselves. This is an area where a lot of teenagers go to party and ride fourwheelers and stuff, so it was really dangerous. I had my fiance take our fourwheeler while I held all 4 kittens on the back. It was a very slow ride home because they were a little scared, but we got them all back safely and took them to an animal shelter... which is a shelter where they don't put animals to sleep unless they can never possibly live a natural healthy life. I was proud of myself, and you should be too. I agree with you 100%. Anyone who can just abandon a helpless animal just has something wrong... I could never do that.

You are absolutely right. We recently found 3 pups on our road that had been dumped. They are beautiful lab/blue heeler mix, at least that is our best guess. They are healthy, thank goodness and very friendly and playful. We have vetted them and are looking for homes for them. We usually do this type rescue at least once a year. Where we live, irresponsible people often drop off dogs/pups. We try to do what we can to help them.

Definitely should be banned from ever owning an animal, or having a child, for that matter. Anyone coldhearted enuff 2 to dump puppies should never be allowed to be responsible 4 anything or anyone vulnerable.

Congrats on being a better human being than theyll ever be

No you are not wrong, but did you see who did it? If so you can report it. But if not then it would be too hard to find the culprits who did it, I do agree on if you dump any animal than that should keep you from owning anything in the future. Did you know that if they did find out who did that then they would be fined for animal cruelty? Just an F.Y.I!! hopefully this helps!

I agree. Those pups are just barely old enough to be away from their mom. If you can't take care of them, then take them to a pound or shelter where they could be adopted. I am amazed at the amount of animal cruelty in this world.

I do believe that there should be a criminal charge for abandoning any animal. In most places dog abandonment, if anything, is just a misdemeanor. People like that should be taken out into the woods with no supplies and left to fend for themselves. If they find someone kind enough to take them in and feed them, OK but If they don't find anyone willing to take them in and feed them that's OK too. The punishment definitely should fit the crime.

It happens more than you know. Petsmart and Petco have at least 5-7 "drop offs" a day. Cats, kittens, dogs, puppies, birds, snakes etc. They put them in a box, tape it and leave it in front. IDIOTS.

Some people shouldn't own animals or reproduce! Why breed stupidity.

I totally agree, but in cases like this one it would be too hard to find the previous owners. All we can do is help the animals and make sure they have the best quality of life possible!

Good Job on taking them in, they probably wouldn't have made it if they'd stayed outside much longer!

I agree that in theory, they should be banned from owning animals. I don't think it's possible to enforce that, however. One reason there are so many homeless animals is because people don't get their pets fixed. That's what a responsible pet owner would do.

I agree. Anyone that could do that to defenseless little puppies should not be allowed to own any animals. Someone should leave them out in the cold with no defenses and see how they like it. You should post in your area to see if anyone saw anything or knew about someone's dog having puppies lately that disappeared quickly. They should have charges pressed against them for cruelty to animals. Furthermore, if they didn't want to deal with puupies, they should have been more responsible with their pets!! Good for you taking them in and finding places for them to stay!
