My daughter has 8 teeth (top and bottom) in the front, 2 molars and 2 more coming in. I let her taste a raisin the other day and she loved it! I was worried about her choking, though (although she ate that one just fine) and didn't give her any more. Are these still a choking hazard to a child her age?

Dear julie, i would,to be on the safe side, ask your pediatrician and see what he tells you, some children swallow before they chew and if she has four our five raisins in her mouth at one time and swallows them without chewing them, then it could pose a problem. Without sounding like a mother, dont give your daughter a hot dog to eat, that IS a choking hazard! Glad to be of help. Jan

A toddler that age can choke on anything including liquids. If you cut it up in fourths she can probably eat it fine. I never had a problem with raisins. Never, ever give a baby hot dogs or nuts, though but I am sure you know that. You know your child and we don't so if you think she can do the smaller pieces go for it. They are really good for her. And if you go with the grapes cut them up really small, too.

I think that they are small enough and it should be ok but you can always cut them in half if you have to. I used to worry about cherios and they are bigger -even though they disolve eventually. Just keep an eye on her while she is eating them. Good luck

My pediatrician said "nothing bigger than half of a peanut m&m."

That was for my 16 month old as well.

put rasins in a bowl of warm water and let them plump up this will make them softer and a little bigger and better way to eat them.

it could be since its so small, but it just depends on how well she eats things. But if she did fine, then i dont see why she couldnt have more.
