Two totally separate issues, that is like saying to someone ok your family dog of 10 years is ill but an operation that costs 1500 dollars can maybe save its life, but we think you should give the money to a needy child who is starving, 99% of the people are going to choose there family pet and with good reason there is an attachment as there was with the owner of barboro, so why should he not use his money to try to save something he cares about, it is not his fault there are starving children. Come on be reasonable.

No money was wasted on Barbaro, if you have starving children, nature is telling you that there are too many children, duh.
Start your own non-profit to give to children, stop the jealousy on the horse, man.

I don't know how much money could be given to children from people who buy gossip magazines, for people who by the latest make-up or fashion trend. How much money could of be given to kids instead of free goodie bags for movie stars??How much money could we save if we didnt go to the movies and jack up the cost that an entertainer makes or if we didnt watch the latest gossip going on, TV? How much money could we give to kids if we didnt smoke so many cigarettes or go to Starbucks on a daily basis. How much money could we give to kids if we didnt waste money on Superbowl commercials and other sports. How much money could we have given to children if we werent too busy gambling at a casino or putting money into the lotto? How much money could we give to children if we weren't too busy stuffing our face with fast food

Who are you to judge how they spend their money? Nobody criticizes you for how you spend your money. Not everyone feels obligated to spend their money on 3rd world countries. There is a large population of people who have relationships with animals, they believe they are creatures just like you and I.
