well with me i know what i want.and if i don't see what i want in a guy i just don't bother. but then for some reason i end up getting my heart broken. i think as we get older our taste in the opposite sex gets different

Definitely! The older I get, the less free time I have so I'm very careful about who I spend it with. Also, I think we all get a better sense of who we're looking for when we get older and so the types of people we want to surround ourselves with change too. I'm not going to go out with some guy just because he asks me to. I have to know if it's worth my time or not. I like to think I'm particular, not picky.
It takes a lot for me to actually agree to go out with someone because most of the time I think I'll enjoy myself more just relaxing at home. It's kind of sad now that I think of it. Maybe I just haven't been meeting anyone worthwhile, but I'd rather be on my own than with someone I didn't think was extraordinary!

probably a little of both, depending on the situation...but as you get older, yes you do get picky, reasoning because you have been burnt so many times...you know what signs to look for and the 'bad seeds' become easier to spot. if you been a very long time without the companion...it may be easy just to accept the invitation.and see what comes out of the friendship, keep in mind, older ppl get very lonely. they happy to have company...not as much sex...what age group you mean older anyways?

I may be older, but definately not desperate!! Yes, I'm pickier and have higher standards. I've been divorced for a year, but not before the marriage taught me what's necessary in a relationship. If I haven't learned anything else, it's that life is way too short to put up with any crap just for the sake of having a mate. Single life isn't that bad!!

You get very picky because you get tired of being hurt and if you have kids then that is another reason to be very picky. Even if sometimes you feel like you want to just not be picky to just have someone. but you will learn if you aren't picky then you will 98% of the time you will get hurt.

I don't think it's necessarily being pickier, I think I just take different things into account now. When i was young, all I was concerned about was if the guy was hot. Now I consider other things such as if he is dependable, caring, funny, and how he is around my kids. But he's still gotta be cute!

I say be picky, isnt the intention to find someone you can spend your life with? If thats the intention figure out what you want and screen for that.

I'm getting picky about things I wasn't picky about when I was younger. When I was younger, she just had to look good and be fun to hang out with.
Now there's things like integrity, baggage, attitude, flexibility, etc.
And it's getting darn near impossible to find anybody who meets my expectations:)
