you have misrepresented wikipedia. how can YA allow this?
it's no wonder ther's so much ignorance in the world when even a (supposedly) informative site like Yahoo Answers allows comments like those in this question.
(personally, I'm not a great wikipedia fan, but at least I understand the ethos behind it)

They don't usually allow it, but people are always going in and adding or removing stuff, like someone took away all the mentions of current Hellenic worship under the Greek Gods pages, but you can just report it and hopefully they'll put it right. I suppose there is far too much stuff there for the powers-that-be of Wiki to catch everything by themselves!

The problem with Wikipedia, and the reason that it's an unreliable source for anything except a quick YA answer (for instance, no reputable teacher will allow students to cite Wikipedia as a source in a paper) is that anyone can edit it. Some fool got in there and added that anti-Islamic statement. It will eventually get edited out (in fact, you can probably go edit it out yourself). Or just report it to Wikipedia, and it'll be removed. The joy, and the curse, of Wikipedia is that anyone, regardless of their knowledge or mental capacity, can edit its content. Because of this, anybody who believes everything they read in Wikipedia needs to have their head examined.

Wikipedia is run by people for people - not by a company. If someone edited the Islam page to read that it's not wikipedia's fault, because they don't claim that any of their pages are accurate or truthful. Besides, it's been changed back now - and most pages that have been trolled like that usually are changed pretty quickly.

Who said Wikipedia is non-biased? It frequently gets vandalized by random idiots.

Wikipedia is not a accurate source for facts. It is good for a quick look up. Majority decides what is right on it. Which means sometimes it will be wrong.
