swansea does not know the actual age it is on a Q plate, it has 7 seats, power steering, classed as an estate 3 doors but has a 1998cc petrol engine, we have been told that we cannot get it insured because of it being on a q plate, if anyone knows any different please can you let us know.

The reason for the Q plate is just that, it's age cannot be determined. You shouldn't have any problem insuring it, just ask around. There are many vehicles on our roads using Q plates.

the reason it is probably on a q plate is its import thats why no one knows the age. if you go to a daihatsu dealer they may be able to tell you by the chassis number

Go to a Daihatsu dealer and ask them to check the chassis number.

i think you should have found out before buying it
is it a jap import
if so it will have been registered there first and registered again in britain
