I assume by your question that you are being sidetracked into doing or thinking about things you do not really consider tops among your priorities. A belief system should result in making you happy most of the time. If your top priority is YOU then anything that takes the focus off YOU is going to make you unhappy. The trouble with this is that YOU can become very boring to yourself and others. YOU isolates one.

To get some positive feedback from others requires taking steps to understand that others have self interests too and need feedback from YOU about their interests just as you need it from them.So try reaching out to others and empathizing with them. Your first step in doing that was the posting of this question.

The response from others may be either positive or negative to start with but as you show your interest in others is real then their interest in YOU will become real. The responses, in time, will become more and more positive and to your liking.Your responses to others should of course be mostly positive. If that can't be then just don't respond.

If you continue doing this you will find that your thoughts are becoming and continuing to be more and more positive and as a result you are happy most of the time. Don't isolate yourself!

No 1: look after me (without becoming self absorbed) , as I can't look after No.2 i.e. my kids, without looking after No 1. Ask yourself how you'd feel if each factor of your life was taken away for a day e.g. family - you'd be devastated as they are irreplaceable, therefore they get greater priority, whereas a job - it just a means to an end and you'll get another one. When the pay packet comes in, who do you have to share it with - that's what is important, not the pay packet itself

i always look for the good in every day the sun shinning the smell of fresh bread or just the chance to make someone else smile and then when the problems come along i spend 20 minutes thinking of a solution and then i move on but just think if you smile at someone else tomorow you might just have made a difference to them and when your smiling its hard to feel down
