YES way too much funkiness for the avg. home buyer, for resale purposes don't necessarily think about what you would like but what is a VERY neutral and popular look.
we are going through the same thing right now and I am sticking with dark cherry cabinents, a mocha/beige ceramic tiling and matching countertop and stainless appliances. - Neutral, neutral, neutral!
look at new homes/construction in your area and see what the builders are putting in. Those are normally the most popular (yes boring) styles hehe..
In the long run you will attract many more buyers this way!

um, yes. If you want to sell your home, the kitchen will be one of the rooms that will either move your home or not. Kitchens and baths sell houses.
Basically you are limiting your house to a minority of buyers out there, at a time where the market isn't very hot. I would keep to something simple and generic. A dark countertop would go very nicely with a lighter wood cabinet, maybe Uba tuba granite with a natural maple or even a natural hickory for some "character".
As for the black appliances, you can, but most people look for stainless now as the standard, and for the floor, maybe a nice ceramic tile, something neutral.

I don't like the idea. Some black works really nicely, but I wouldn't go for all black. Perhaps stainless steel appliances with black counters? What wall color are you doing? What are the cupboards, wood or painted? If you're selling, I would keep it neutral. I'd love to see black and white checkerboard floor tile with your plan though rather than a speckled pattern. Look in design mags and stuff for ideas. See where they use black counters & get ideas for the other colors.

I have to say I love black furniture, floors, counter-tops, appliances, and counters but not all together. Perhaps putting in black counters with a lighter shade counter-top and the speckled floors. I think all black would be too much. Even if you just change one of the items [counter-tops, appliances, or counters] it would improve the sales. This is only an opinion but at least it's honest! Best of Luck!

If you are putting your house up for sale, you want the colors to appeal to everyone, not just you.
If your kitchen is small, perhaps you'd be better off with either stainless steel or white appliance with a nice white / grey speckled granite-like counter with white / black / grey tile.

The amount of black described is far too much to put in a small kitchen.
Remember that a kitchen is VERY important to a buyer. The black might appeal to you, but you will drive away many potential buyers with it.
Kitchens should be light and clean. Stick to white or neutral colours in a light shade.

I would go with a more neutral color range. I know you love the black, but if you are going to sell the house, you want something that will go with any color. I would go with a lighter countertop, white appliances and a lighter floor. I love color and that way you could use any color you would like. (for the new homeowners). I would go with a floor that has white in the background or something that will go with all color ranges. Good Luck and remember if you paint it a lighter color it will appear much larger. Yellow is my favorite color and it looks great on the walls...sunny, bright, cheery and makes the room look larger!!!!

If your kitchen is small, black will make it look smaller. A white color always enlarges appearance.
I have not seen a kitchen with that much black in it... Personally, I like black appliances in a kitchen. I don't know about a black counter and floors as well...

The big thing right now (from what I've seen) is stainless steel appliances. Black could look really nice with that, and it's fairly easy to keep clean as well.

I suggest keeping the kitchen in light airy colours, black in a small kitchen is too dark. Keep in mind how the rest of your house is decorated and go with that style, but airy.
