I was cleaning my ears this morning with a q-tip and my sister bumped into my arm. This caused the q-tip to go in very deep and hit my (possibly) eardrum. Now my ear has been hurting for 5 hours now and I kinda hear funnt too. Is is dangerous and is there anything to do...?

Thanks a million!

YOU MUST GO TO YOUR DOCTOR. NOW!

A friend of mine had essentially the same thing happen. She was holding her granddaughter while using a q-tip. The granddaughter was patting her face and hit the q-tip, driving it into her ear. She had a lot of pain, and finally went to the doctor. The doctor said she'd ruputured her eardrum and it was one of the three worst injuries he'd ever seen. He told her she would probably lose hearing in that ear completely. She ended up having surgery and has fortunately regained about 75% of her hearing. YOU MUST GET THIS LOOKED AT!
