I attended both Wedding & Reception...Wedding was traditional except for the best man (the station mascot-a dalmation-carried the ring). The reception did theme stuff:

Bride & Groom left for reception in old horse & buggy fire truck and then for honeymoon in a rented antique firetruck.

Groom's Cake was a chocolate and red icing in fire hose and hat shape. The top of wedding cake was a fireman holding the bride's figurine. Open bar had a shot of something red and deadly called 'Fireman's Punch' that carried the disclaimer, "No drinking and driving".

Reception hall was in decorated in black, red and gold and when he removed her garter with his teeth, it had a little fire truck sewn on it. She said it was for "his little fireman" which got a huge laugh from everyone except the groom.

Congrats to you!

You should have red and yellow as the main color scheme - like in boquets; you could have a firetruck themed wedding cake, too! That would be cool to have a tired cake with a firetruck zooming up the levels! Goodluck!
