Having a kitten is kind of like having a toddler, actions are cute at first, but quickly turn into brats. Try switching out his toys, just rotating currently owned toys will be fine. Also try chasing him around the house, that will get you involved in this behavior but ware him out at the same time. Rememeber he is still a baby and will continue to act like one until he is about 2.

Because they're babies! If you had a human baby it would start to do things of a similar nature. You're kitty is young and is excitable, he's more than likely to grow out of it. Otherwise it's his diet and need a change. Talking to your local vet wouldn't hurt, but I imagine he's just going through some growing periods. After all I would say that before he was docile and calm, that was because he was pretty much helpless and frightend of his big new world. Well now he probably feels he can take on anything and he's going to show how tough he is because he's finding out his identity. Do you play with him? He may also want you to play with him, so next time he runs off after looking like an attack kitty rush after him and give chase and play. Or if you're too busy you could contemplate getting him a buddy. Kitties like kiddies will run around looking for play even if they get lots of food, clean bathroom and affection they still want to play and rush around with extrodinary energy for what seems like hours but will only be a short while until like the little darlin's they are fall asleep. All babies of both human and animal do act like this. If you see any nature films you will see a baby animal biting and attacking their mama or papa in frantic ways while their parent sleeps. So what is up with him is that he sees you as his mama and wants you do stop what ever you're doing and play with him. He wants a playmate and that's all.

you're perfect no longer permitting them to out until eventually they're neutered. Kittens of both sexes can grow to be sexually lively at 4 months so, even regardless of the actuality that they are small, they're previous sufficient to reproduce. because of that, you should finally end up with both a pregnant lady kitten or a battered and scratched male kitten who's fought yet another cat over the rights to a woman. it is attainable to get kittens neutered from 4 months yet your vet would have reported no for a reason. it will be that he thinks they're too small and would not react properly to both the operation or the anesthetic. to dissipate a number of their capacity, the perfect component must be so that you'll play with them and tire them out. A feather on a string connected to a stick is sweet for that. On precise of the exercising, your kittens would have a staggering time fiddling with you and it is going to help with bonding. have a good time with. :-)

Now imagine that times two, lol. I got two male kittens from the same litter and brought them home (I thought they could use a playmate). They were 6 weeks old and they adapted beautifully to their new home. But around 4 months old, thier energy level went through the roof!!! They stampede through the house, romping, playing, and making an awful racket.
The problem is that kittens have a TON of energy and inside they have little room to put it to good use. They aren't hunting their food, hiding from predators, nothing... so they have all that energy and release it all over your home! The best thing to do is to buy or make them lots of toys to play with. Wadded up paper, ribbons, string, boxes of all shapes and sizes are some ideas as to how to entertain your little ball of fluff. Remember: The less you spend, the more they will love it. Cats LOVE to play!
Also, getting your cat spayed/neutered will lower its energy as well. Mine just got neutered last week and while they still love to romp and play, it's for shorter periods.
Hopefully I didn't leave anything out... I'm sure others will throw in good advice as well. :-)

Haha - its a kitten - thats how they act! Have you never had a cat before? I have an 8 year old cat that still does that from time to time. The kitty will calm down some as it grows up but what your kitten is doing is totally normal!

Thier cats. ALL my cats did that. They get a wild hair up their bum and race around like thier on speed! It's just the way they are. They are just playing but sometimes if you get in the way you may get a face full of sharp claws SO WATCH OUT.
What are you feeding the kitty? To much protein is like giving a kid chocolate. That may have something to do w/ it. Look at the ingrediants and make sure it's all natural - no by products. That should help.
But other than that.. there's nothing you can really do.
Good Luck

This is probably the main reason why many people suggest adopting two kittens at one time rather than just one. They need playmates to help them channel their energy. Kittens at that age are really amped up most of the time. They need that energy to perfect their coordination, hunting skills and learn balance and tone their muscles like they would in the wild. It's not that he is being a brat, he is just following natures program that would allow him to survive in the wild. Your kitty needs you to play with him often. There are lots of toys you can buy that you can play interactively with him and that will be loads of fun for both of you. It will also help socialize him and he will apreciate the attention. You will also help him burn up some of that access energy.

Sounds like a very happy kitty! Make sure he has lots of toys and a kitty condo and/or scratching post. I used to have one that would play hide and seek with me...which meant I had to get on all fours like him.
Please do not declaw...it is so cruel! Once he is neutered (after 6 months), he will calm down a little. Enjoy him while he's young; take lots of pictures.
Just think, when he's a little older he will be "helping" you type another question here on Yahoo Answers: "Why does my cat insist on laying on my keyboard ?" :)

Your kitty is going through his "terrible twos" stage and he will out grow it. However, from time to time when he does mature, he is bound to go through this again on occasion! It's a lot of fun, and enjoy it while you can.
I had to get my kitten a companion to help burn of his energy and focus on the other kitten. My cat would attack me like I was another cat. This is one of the best reasons to always have two cats if you can. They are each other's best playmates.

He is a kitten. Try getting him some toys to play with so he can use in energy and get some of it out. He needs to be played with more, Try playing with the kitten, a laser light and have kitty chase it around. Good exercise and tires them out.
