Hi.
I also have a carbon filter on my deep fat fryer, it depends on which type you have. I had one that was a thin layer of filter, and I found that I could use the large filters you get for overhead cooker vents, from the catalogue that comes through the door, and I use to cut the filter, to shape and insert into the fryer, bingo, it did the job. I now have the type that is encased into a round box, which is slightly thicker, am going to try and use the same thing but doubling up. Cant see it not working, they are all filters just the same, and are a lot cheaper in price too. I always buy two or three, and put them away.
Ialways get at least two lots from each one, depending on size.

Check with Kitchen Connection. Also, if you have a restaurant supply store near you, they may carry them as well.
