It's fine and would be a good gesture to show up at a meet most likely. Other fans and parents will be in attendance as well. Just don't go too early and don't talk to her before or during the meet because that is her job, unless she initiates it.

If you feel awkward, I'm sure you can bring a friend..I mean what guy friend of yours wouldnt want to see women in their gymnastic suits running and jumping and jiggling all over the place. OR go sit close to the team so you can be in eye and ear shot of your girlfriend.
