If you dry it with a diffuser on the hairdryer it should calm it down a bit. You could try some serum too. Apparently there is some method that can be done at the hairdressers which thins your hair, but don't hold me to that; I'm not sure.
Good luck, hope this helps.
Combing instead of brushing will help reduce frizz.

This is some info I found on Yahoo! I hope it helps.

Thick Hair

Many people with thick hair complain of having an itchy, flaky scalp. This is usually caused by insufficient rinsing after cleaning your hair: the shampoo soap leaves a residue which is sealed onto the scalp by the conditioner, causing dryness and irritation. Make sure you rinse your hair longer after shampooing to avoid this problem. Other tips for making thick hair look its healthiest include:

Keep your hair either short or long - short haircuts keep thick hair under control, while the weight of long hair holds it down. Mid-length cuts on thick hair tend to make the hair stick out at the ends.

Cut your hair in layer to relieve some of the bulk. Don't cut short layers or pieces too short or they will add extra volume.

If you color your hair, opt for semi-permanent colors which don't have the same thickening effect as permanent colors and bleach.

Ah! You don't want to make it less thick. Thick hair is everybody's dream! Trust me. I have thick hair and people love it.

I straighten my hair - which used to take almost 2 hours. To cut down on time I bought a new straightener -remington- and I straighten my hair either when it's wet or dry. The straightener works great either way.

I pull the top half of my hair up and straighten the bottom first. Then I slowly take sections down from the top part. Now it takes an hour to an hour and a half to straighten which is a little better.

Or.. since I take showers at night, I try to brush my hair straight so when I wake up in the morning I only have to use the straightener to straighten the strands that are still a little wavy. This takes like 10 mins. or so. A lot faster!

I am afraid there are no hair products which will make it less thick. I have thick hair and the best thing to do is to go the hairdressers and ask them to thin out your hair. It makes your hair more thin and easier to handle. You can also get long layers cut into your hair it will make it easier to straighten.there are a lot of products to make thin hair thick but not the other way round.

The only thing that has help may thick, abundant, coarse hair has been the Sunsilk Anti-poof (the blue one) shamppoo, conditioner and balm.

The layered look is not the best haircut for t your type of hair. Consider having it the same length so it will look better and healthier, and it will be easier to keep up. Having you hair professionally thinned every quarter is excelent to make it ledd bulky, specially in the back.

Also, I invested on a CHI ceramic flat iron (do not buy any other brand, it wont help you any). Yes, they are about $100 dollars but they are worth every dime.

I also follow with Biosilk serum ($20 per bottle) also worth every penny. It makes the hair silky and strigh and helsp keep it straght.

I've tried averything on themarket, but onlt the above products have done anythinfg for my hair.

Good luck

When you next go to the hairdressers tell them about your hair and ask what they can do. I have blonde, curly hair which is three or four inches below the shoulders which is very thick and occasionally my hairdresser 'thins' it. I don't know how they do it but most hairdressers know how to do it and it just thins your hair down a little bit to make it more manageable. But on the positive side, thick hair can be great, and thin hair can be a pain as it can look straggly and isn't too easy to handle. I hope that helps.

I have the same problem and the only thing they tell you to do is get it layered or thinned out. Layers makes it thinner but it looks thicker and im sure that's not the result you were looking for. A lot of hairdressers do not recommend thinning but they still do it. They remove how ever much you want but im not sure how much it will cost you, the end result is definitely worth it. I did it and it looked great! Much easier to straighten and everything, but remember to ask about all of the ups and downs of it. Good luck

I have used the new SunSilk products for frizzy hair, flatten hair, curl hair, etc. and it really works better than any products I have used before. I have the same problem and I used the de-frizz and the straightening one (purple bottle) and it works really well for my hair. If you still have a problem, I would go to Sally's Beauty Salon or a similar store and ask someone that works there. Most of them know the products really well and they have so many products out there that help.

My hair is fine and on the thin side. You can give some to me! Really, other people probably think your hair is beautiful being so thick. But if you don't want it to look as thick, don't layer it.

Have it thinned when you go to get your hair trimmed. My hair was mega thick at your age too now im 33 and would love to have it back...... Getting it thinned will help. I could not wear layers I had to have all one length and very long, made it look thinner then when it was shorter.

nothing will make hair thinner, as that's physically impossible.

just have your stylist use thinning sheers all over to think out the layers. My hair doesn't grow long but thick, just thinning sheers alone makes a huge difference in thickness, how it lays, acts, etc.
